Mr. Tomson Li graduated from radio technology department of South China University of Technology. He began his career as an engineer at TTK Home Electronic Appliances (predecessor of TCL Corporation) in 1982, and successively held the positions of general manager of Telephone Communication Limited (TCL) and general manager of TCL Electronics Group. In 1996, he became chairman of TCL Corporation and in 2004 he took the position of CEO at the same time.
TCL Corporation is a global consumer electronics enterprise with over 70,000 employees. Since 1999, with the initiation of its self-owned brand promotion campaigns and mergers with well-established brands across the world, TCL has laid a firm foundation in overseas markets and has become a pioneer in the drive for Chinese enterprises seeking both domestic and international recognition. TCL has established sales units across more than 80 countries and regions, as well as 23 R&D centers and 21 manufacturing bases worldwide. In 2016, the brand value of TCL exceeded 76 billion RMB, holding the No. 1 of TV brand in China for 11 consecutive years. Today TCL is developing into a globalized manufacturer of smart products and provider of Internet application and services.
Mr. Li has been elected as a delegate to China’s 16th Party Congress, and served as a deputy to the 10th, 11th, and 12th National People’s Congress. He is also the chairman of China Video Industry Association, vice-chairman of China Chamber of International Commerce, and chairman of the Guangdong Home Appliances Chamber of Commerce.
